As part of our educational mission, each year, The Orange County Wine Society awards scholarships to aspiring young winemaking (enology), grape-growing (viticulture), wine marketing, and culinary arts students at several colleges throughout California. This year, the OCWS and the Marino Family Scholarship Fund has donated $33,450.00 to the following colleges and universities.

Note 1: Indicates colleges supporting programs in Enology, Viticulture, or Wine Marketing.
Note 2: Indicates colleges supporting programs in Culinary Arts.
Note 3: Each year, many of our judges from the OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition donate their honoraria to a special scholarship fund that is awarded in rotation to one of the above schools. This year, the $2800.00 collected in 2010 has been donated to Allan Hancock College’s award-winning Enology and Viticulture programs.
Note 4: Orange County Wine Society Members, Janet and Tony Marino have established the Marino Family Scholarship Fund. This year, they have awarded $1050.00 towards Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Enology and Viticulture program.
Note 5: When applying or reapplying for OCWS membership, Wine Society members are allowed the opportunity to donate additional funds to colleges of their choice.
