One last reminder, the Wine Auction is set for Sunday, March 30, in Building #17 on the Fairgrounds, and the PYOL will be Saturday, April 19, in the Parade of Products area on the Fairgrounds. For details on these events, please refer to the January and February newsletters from your mailing or on the OCWS website.
At the Auction, you will have the opportunity to bid on premium four-bottle lots of wine in both a silent and verbal auction format. We currently have over 500 lots prepared and will probably have well over 900 lots available for purchase.
Each member attending the Wine Auction is eligible to attend and buy wine at this year’s PYOL. Attendance at the PYOL is open only for those members who attend the Wine Auction. A majority of these wines that were submitted for the Commercial Competition retail for a much higher price. This is a good opportunity to pick up some everyday wine at a very reasonable price.
Sorry, only OCWS members may attend the Wine Auction & PYOL. Additionally, please remember that all Wine Society events are adults only. As such, we ask that you please refrain from bringing underage guests and children to our events.
Bidder catalogs will be available in the OCWS office starting Monday, March 24. Your cutoff for signup is Wednesday, March 26, in order to allow time to prepare the necessary paperwork and computer data entry for the bidding process. No admittance will be allowed without prior registration. Please register by the cutoff date in order to save us the embarrassment of refusing you entry into the event.
