There is still time! The deadline for declaring candidacy for this year’s election to the OCWS Board of Director is August 28. The qualifications are quite simple:

• An appreciation of wine. You need not be an expert; just have an interest in learning about and enjoying wine.
• A commitment to the OCWS. Help the OCWS achieve its objectives as a non-profit educational organization.
• Teamwork. Work with 8 other Board Members to share the effort, make decisions, and provide direction to the OCWS.
• A desire to have fun. After all, we are a social organization. So, if it’s not fun, none of us would be here.

Does this describe you? Then why not consider a leadership role in OCWS?

As always, three board positions will be filled by a vote from the OCWS membership following the Annual Business Meeting on September 11. To declare your candidacy for a position on the Board of Directors, simply present your Declaration of Candidacy to the Election Committee in writing no later than August 28. The Declaration of Candidacy should be accompanied by a simple written Statement of Qualifications.

“Election Central” has once again been added to our web site at www.ocws.org. Go there to meet the candidates and learn their platforms and qualifications. Better yet, become a candidate and have your picture and statement added to “2009 Election Central.”
